Beth Munnings-Winter ‘Huntsman’ Watercolor Original Art

$280.00

10x 10 Original Framed Oil on Canvas by Beth Munnings.

Born in Ontario, Canada in 1961, Beth Munnings has pursued the company of horses since early childhood, from pony club to showing hunters, eventing and dressage.  A relative and student of famed equine artist, Sir Alfred Munnings, his work is her inspiration.  She is largely self-taught, but both parents were amateur artists, and art supplies were always available. Sketching and painting are lifelong pursuits. Beth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Toronto, but also enjoyed courses in Greek, Roman and Medieval Art. When she went on to postgraduate studies at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, she was introduced to hunting with the Fife Foxhounds–a passion she enjoys to this day. Returning to Canada, she married, earned a degree in education, and taught for several years before the family immigrated to the USA. When her children were grown, she became a full-time artist, painting from her studio and farm in upstate South Carolina.  Three horses, two miniature donkeys, two dogs, three cats, numerous cattle and chickens, and innumerable honey bees provide inspiration, as do the subjects of her commissioned art. Additional inspiration is drawn (both literally and figuratively) from annual trips to the UK and Ireland.

Beth’s art hangs in collections across the USA, in Canada, Ireland, the UK, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Australia, and New Zealand.

“I paint because it’s my passion, and it’s my hope that the  pictures bring as much joy to others as I experience in their creation.”
